AWS SAA-C02 Exam Retiring on 29 August 2025 — Transition to SAA-C03

AWS SAA-C02 exam retires on 29 August 2025. SAA-C03 launch with updated content on AI/ML, App Runner, CloudFront functions.

AWS has announced that the SAA-C02 (Solutions Architect Associate) exam will be retired on 29 August 2025. The new SAA-C03 version will be available from 30 August 2025.

What's New in SAA-C03

New services added: AWS App Runner, Amazon CloudFront Functions, AWS Lambda SnapStart, AWS Global Accelerator
More focus on: Serverless architectures, container orchestration (ECS/EKS), ML services (SageMaker basics)
Reduced weight: On-premises migration scenarios
Question count: 65 (same as C02)
Duration: 130 minutes (same)
Passing score: 720/1000 (same)

For Existing C02 Candidates

If you've already booked SAA-C02 before 29 Aug 2025, you can take it on your scheduled date.
If you want to switch to C03, reschedule via Pearson VUE before 29 Aug 2025.
Score reports from C02 will remain valid for 3 years from pass date — no impact on existing certification.
Recertification can be done via SAA-C03 when your current cert expires.
