🧠 Key Concepts to Master
Well-Architected Framework — 6 Pillars
- Operational Excellence
- Security
- Reliability
- Performance Efficiency
- Cost Optimisation
- Sustainability (new in C03)
Service Limit Memorisation
Know these numbers:
- S3 — max object size 5 TB
- Lambda — max 15 min execution
- DynamoDB — max item size 400 KB
- EC2 — max 288 vCPUs per instance (u-24tb1.metal)
Common Exam Patterns
- 'Most cost-effective' → check for reserved/Savings Plans
- 'Minimise operational overhead' → choose serverless/managed service
- 'Decouple components' → SQS/SNS/Kinesis
- 'Disaster recovery' → cross-region replication + S3 lifecycle
⚠️ Common Mistakes That Lead to Failure
- Watching videos without hands-on — exam tests practical scenarios
- Not reading AWS FAQs — exam questions often come from FAQ content
- Memorising without understanding — scenarios test reasoning
- Skipping Well-Architected Framework — it underpins everything
- Not practising time management — 2 min/question average, easy to fall behind
- Choosing 'expensive' options when 'cheaper' is equally valid
📅 Exam-Day Strategy
- Get 7+ hours sleep the night before
- Reach test centre 30 min early (or set up proctoring 15 min before for online exam)
- Have ID + secondary ID ready
- Skip questions you don't know — mark for review
- Use process of elimination for tough questions
- Manage time: ~2 min/question, 30 min buffer for review
📞 After the Exam
- Provisional result immediately (pass/fail)
- Detailed score report within 5 business days
- Digital badge via Credly within 7 days
- Add badge to LinkedIn — recruiters search 'AWS SAA'
